PS 331K

Plaza was awarded the contract to build PS 331K by the New York City School Construction Authority. This new school is located in the Bay Ridge Area of Brooklyn NY on the site where the Bay Ridge Methodist Church once stood. The facade is a brick masonry cavity wall with some precast and metal panels and includes a clock tower as well as the original  rosette window from the previous church incorporated into the building design. 
Heating and air conditioning is supplied from rooftop packaged high efficiency units, supplemented with perimeter hydronic system. The electrical systems feature state-of-the-art network and communications systems. 
The school building accommodates approximately 708 students, and includes a multi-purpose performance space, gymnasium, cafeteria, 26 classrooms and nine special education classrooms. 
The building consists of a structural steel frame four stories tall supported on piles and spread footings.
