The Shops at Atlas Park
This 25-acre, 1.0 sq. ft. industrial property located in Glendale section of Queens, New York. The developer launched a comprehensive redevelopment of a 12-acre portion of the site which it has owned and operated for 80 years. The area included 23 buildings, 16 of which have been completely or partially demolished, four were renovated, and two (including a central boiler plant) were unaffected and continue to serve the balance of the property.
Additionally, Plaza constructed three new buildings. The redevelopment concept called for the creation of Queens’ first and only contemporary “lifestyle” shopping center, with 310,000 sq. ft. of retail space, 90,000 sq. ft. of office space to include a movie theater and a 650-car multi-level garage at the rear of the site.
The project won the 2005 New York Tri-State Top 40 Projects from New York Construction.
