Located in the heart of the historic West Village, near Hudson River park, this new high-end condominium stands 340,000 sq. ft., has 91 residences and 10 attached townhomes. The 16-story tower portion rises with several stepped terraces. Over 30,000 sq. ft. of green space occupies the site. Additionally, the residential complex includes a lobby, fitness center, children’s playroom, 75’ lap pool, and parking garage.
The demolition and alteration of the warehouse building required salvaging the existing façade on both Charles and 10th Streets along with the entire foundation wall. Temporary steel bracing was designed and installed to support the existing construction that was to become part of the new building. A new matt slab and foundation walls poured against the existing foundation walls created a bathtub for the building where the water table is 6’ below cellar slab elevation.
