Located in New York City's famed West Village on the site of a historic factory by the same name, Superior Ink is a luxury condominium tower and seven distinct low-rise townhouses. The 17-story tower includes 62 apartments facing the Hudson River, while the townhouses line picturesque Bethune Street.
Create a luxury condominium and townhouses inspired by the neighborhood's industrial aesthetic. The tower façade is comprised of pre-cast panels, window wall and metal panels. The pre-cast panels include the Nordic Black Granite Water Table with a water jet finish attached to pre-cast at the ground floor. Jura Beige Limestone with striated saw cut finish creates a rusticated stone look. The brick attached to the pre-cast panels incorporates unique features such as brick arches and shaped brick with saw tooth coursing. The classic exteriors of both the tower and townhouses are contrasted by contemporary interiors.
Time was of the essence on this project, and Plaza's experience worked to our client's advantage. We managed the completion of the superstructure concrete, including a two-way reinforced concrete system slab, in 90 days. The townhouses and lower floors of the tower were constructed simultaneously, allowing for an average pour cycle of five days at the lower tower floors and townhouse floor. The pour cycle at the upper tower floors averaged just two days.
