General Electric Commercial Finance
299 Park Avenue
New York, NY
Plaza construction Corporation was the successful GC bidder for a four
floor build-out at 299 Park Avenue for the Commercial Credit group at
General Electric Commercial Finance. The project was a redefinition
of the workstation and design standards for General Electric
Commercial Finance as they moved a group from suburban Stamford,
CT to floors three through six at the Park Avenue address.
As a statement of their business the reception area is appropriately
appointed with a reception desk with a backlit glass cube. A backlit
strip features symbols of the many different lines of business they are
involved in. The space is kept bright with a light wood scheme and
utilizes custom uplighting. The 5th floor is home to a large conference
room for full office meetings, divisible with a moveable partition.
The room is prewired for all videoconferencing and A/V requirements.
The 4th floor houses 44 trading desks on a raised floor, and
the 3rd floor is home to an informal cafe / coffee bar. The balance
of the space is outfitted with customized Steelcase workstations and
private offices with Raco door frames with clear glass and frosted glass
fronts.
The project was completed in two phases and delivered on time and
on budget. Due to the team's performance on the project, Plaza was
asked to continue working with General Electric Commercial Finance
on CM basis for further expansion within the building.
