Plaza Construction Corporation was selected to serve as the
Construction Manager for the base building upgrade and re-stack for
Ferragamo USA Inc., the company that distributes Salvatore Ferragamo
products in North America. Ferragamo's merchandise includes shoes,
clothing, leather accessories, perfume, eyewear, and bath line.
The project included a complete
renovation of
Ferragamo’s private showrooms,
main building lobby,
corporate executive offices
and an elevator modernization.
In addition, the complete
MEP system was
replaced including the
mechanical cooling tower and
riser system, steam station,
core bathrooms, electrical
service and fire protection
systems.
The executive and corporate offices were constructed while maintaining
a fully operational "swing space" allowing all Ferragamo day-to-day
operations to occur uninterrupted.
Connecting floors 4-6 is a cantilevered limestone staircase with ornamental
metal railings and glass panels.
This multi-phased project was constructed concurrent with an otherwise
fully occupied and tenanted building. Extreme care and caution
was utilized to prevent any disruption to Ferragamo’s ground floor Fifth
Avenue retail store whose hours of operation are from 10AM to 6PM during
weekdays and Saturdays and 12PM to 6PM on Sundays.
