Plaza Construction Corporation was hired as Construction Manager
for a new 5,000 SF kitchen, 14,000 SF conference center and a
22,000 SF dining facility with elliptical walls, high end millwork from
Italy and roughly 18,000 SF of Iranian travertine. New gas, steam and
electrical risers had to be brought to the floor. The building's high
pressure duct work needed to be modified for the new scheme.
The conference center, that includes a state of the art AV system, is
constructed in four elliptical rooms where two of the rooms are
divided by folding partitions. These rooms are covered in fabric wall
panels following the same contour as the room. The reception area
outside the conference center mimics the same design as the conference
rooms with a full service bar area. The servery and dining area
finishes includes Dacoustics and Whisperspan ceilings, glass walls,
imported millwork and stone, and a coffee bar area that includes
wood floors. All work was performed simultaneously to ensure that
the change of use for the floor would be completed within the
schedule restraints.
