Unidad and the city of Miami Beach and KM/Plaza break ground for the North Beach Oceanfront Center

City of Miami Beach Mayor Matti Bower joined representatives of KM/Plaza to break ground for the North Beach Oceanfront Center, located at 7251 Collins Avenue, Bandshell Park in Miami Beach. Plaza Construction is headquartered in New York City with a regional office in Miami.

KM/Plaza will serve as the General Contractor for the project, a new, two (2) story, approximately 8,000 sq. ft., public building, which will be iconic in nature and include an exterior façade consisting of Fibre C with Amber LED lighting within the cladding system (the first project to receive this finish in South Florida) throughout the exterior including a floating staircase leading to a second story exterior deck.  The project also has floor to ceiling glass wrapping around the second floor, providing magnificent views of South Beach, with a dramatic angled roof structure and exterior deck on the Beach. The project is scheduled to be completed in August 2011.

“We’re excited to be leading the construction of this important center for the Miami community,” said Brad Meltzer, President, KM/Plaza Construction. “KM/Plaza is very focused on projects such as these that make the South Florida region an exceptional place to work and to live.”
