Jennifer Murphy
Marketing and Strategic Development
With over 20 years of New York City construction experience, Jennifer Murphy is responsible for identifying and driving new markets for Plaza and serves as the Corporate Director for Marketing and Strategic Development for all of Plaza’s regional offices. She has been directly responsible for adding over $700 million of new business to the firm’s portfolio.
Ms. Murphy began her career in New York City with Plaza as a Project Manager. She spent ten years in the architectural and interior design profession, becoming a partner in the international firm of Brennan Beer Gorman Monk / Interiors. She returned to Plaza in 2002 with an in-depth understanding of the development cycle from Master Planning through project completion. Ms. Murphy has been involved in over 10 million square feet of development and construction throughout the country. Select clients include: New York Marriott Marquis, Sofitel New York and Philadelphia, Detroit Marriott Hotel, Caesars Atlantic City, Pfizer, PaineWebber, Inc., Wasserstein Perella, Davidoff & Malito, Smith Barney. She has also served as Owner’s Representative for selective projects, such as the New Museum of Contemporary Art and the 299 Park Avenue Lobby Renovation.
She is a member of the Association of Real Estate Women, WX, CoreNet’s New York City Chapter, supports Non-traditional Employment for Women (NEW) as a co-chair of their Ambassador Council. She also serves on the Advisory Committee for the Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation, whose mission it is to expand recognition of women’s contributions to the built environment. Through relationships with these progressive associations, Ms. Murphy has revealed her commitment to promoting and expanding industry knowledge through education, research and empowering professionals at all levels.
Ms. Murphy has run the NYC marathon and half marathon (2010/2011) in support of Fred’s Team, an organization that supports Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Research. She has also been a consistent supporter of March of Dimes, specifically the Construction and Transportation Industry annual fundraising luncheon for the past three years.
Ms. Murphy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo and received her Certificate in Construction Estimating and Project Management from NYU.
