Ms. DeCandio has 17 years of experience in managing property and casualty insurance programs. Along with the marketing, negotiating and the purchasing of all regional corporate insurance programs she has extensive experience with securing project specific coverage for all types of exposures. In addition to managing/purchasing the corporate insurance program Ms. DeCandio has broad knowledge of OCIP and CCIP programs and has overseen numerous projects successfully.
In addition, Ms. DeCandio reviews all RFP/bid documents to assess liability exposures; working as a liaison with Plaza’s legal counsel and executive management she ensures that all subcontracts and client contracts are in order. Further Ms. DeCandio and her department prepare, distribute and monitor the contract process to assure the execution and compliance of all contracts and insurance/bond requirements.
Ms. DeCandio also manages a multimillion dollar Contractor Default Insurance Programs (Subguard) for Plaza and was proactive in the implementation of a corporate on-line prequalification process for all subcontractors. Ms. DeCandio worked with a software company to create the program that suited Plaza’s needs.
Additionally, Ms. DeCandio is responsible for the management of all corporate claims and legal proceedings. On a daily basis Ms. DeCandio is in contact with the handling attorneys and claims adjusters to ensure that Plaza’s interests are protected and that the overall costs of claims are managed accordingly.
Lastly, Ms. DeCandio has earned a position on Plaza’s advisory board where she has been instrumental in the development of many of the management tools and procedures utilized by the company.
